ABOUT US
Compton’s Hub City International Film Festival (CHCIFF) is more than an event—it’s a cultural lens.
The 2nd Annual Compton’s Hub City International Film Festival (CHCIFF 2025) returns July 25–27, 2025, transforming Compton College into a global stage for fearless, visionary storytelling. Rooted in the rich cultural soil of Compton, California—a city that gave rise to hip-hop icons, Hollywood disruptors, and athletic legends—CHCIFF is more than a film festival. It’s a cultural corner movement.
This year’s hybrid format includes onsite screenings at Compton College and a robust virtual showcase, ensuring global accessibility. Expect a powerful mix of red-carpet premieres, youth filmmaker spotlights, panels, workshops, music, food, and community connection.
CHCIFF doesn’t just screen films—it elevates voices that have waited too long to be heard. We don’t ask permission to tell our stories. We own the lens, we craft the frame, and we shape the future of film.
Purpose & Vison:
To spotlight diverse independent cinema from around the world, with a signature Compton flavor.
Hybrid Format:
Held both in-person at Compton College and streamed virtually worldwide, ensuring local vibrancy and global reach.
Core Mission Includes:
Elevating youth and underrepresented filmmakers
Showcasing independent global voices
Promoting cultural pride through cinema
Creating career pathways through panels, workshops, and mentorship
Honoring Compton’s influence on music, film, and media

Our Mission
Compton’s Hub City International Film Festival (CHCIFF) exists to platform underrepresented filmmakers through an unfiltered lens, honoring Compton’s legacy as a cultural innovator while igniting tomorrow’s storytellers. We reject gatekeeping in cinema, instead building bridges between global voices and Compton’s streets—where films are judged by their resonance, not their resources.
